Automated Cantilever Sliding Gate
‘Cantilever Sliding Gates’ offer a number of advantages over Swing Gates and are a popular choice for our larger commercial clients concerned about security. When closed, ‘Cantilever Sliding Gates’ offer a much stronger resistance to ramming than standard swing gates.
Frontline Automation Cantilever Sliding gate is a bespoke product based upon established design features, but individually designed and manufactured to suit a specific client's requirement.
Frontline Automation Cantilever Sliding has no ground track, which leaves the roadway free from rails. They are ideal for added security or where road surfaces are uneven. The gate is fully self-supporting with installation being both quick and simple, requiring only the bolting down of the motor post and receptor post onto prepared foundations. The drive and control system are completely enclosed within a steel housing providing a greater level of security, neater installation and protection from vandalism.
With a wide range of styles to compliment both traditional and contemporary designs we can also custom-design to match a specific requirement.
With the widest possible range of infill, types, drives and control options available. We continue to develop new materials and features to ensure the perfect solution to meet a particular need.
Our range of Cantilevered Gates acts as the ultimate deterrent to unwanted visitors with various security features such as:
Anti climb infill wire mesh, Rotating Anti Climb,Saw Tooth and Barbed Wire.
We also install and fabricate Pedestrian Gates and Turnstiles so that pedestrians can enter/exit safely without having to use your vehicle gates.
Standard Bar Infill
The gate is constructed from a fully welded rectangular hollow section frame and has a standard fully welded infill of 50mmx25mm ERW (rectangular section) mounted vertical at 150/170mm pitch.
Palisade Infill
UltraPale Round nosed and notched or Triple Point pales, fixed with M8 Ultra bolts and tamper-proof snap cone nuts. The bolt head lies flat against the rail to maximize security.
Mesh Infill
358 Heavy-duty security steel mesh infill (prison mesh).
Finish
To prevent corrosion the following process is used:
Grit blast to SA2.5, hot zinc metal spray to 50 micron, pre-heat and etch, polyester powder-coat to 50 micron minimum or two pack polyurethane paint finish (subject to gate size). Most standard RAL colours are available normally 30% gloss. Other colours are available on request.
Safety Controls and Maintenance
BS-EN13241-1 is the safety standard for installation, testing and ongoing compliance of automatic gate, door and barrier systems. The standard has been in force in the UK since February 2008 and all new gate systems installed should comply with the standard. In short, the standard is designed to protect you, the end user, from risks associated with entrapment between parts of a moving swing or sliding gate. The standard covers both commercial and residential systems and stipulates the following:
1. A swing (hinged) or sliding gate, when colliding with an obstruction, must exert a force of less than 400N before the drive unit stops due to detection of an obstacle.
2. The gate must then reverse to safely clear the obstruction within 0.75 seconds.
3. The entire leading edge of a swing or sliding gate, up to a height of 2.5m, must be fitted with an active obstacle detection system.
4. The obstacle detection system must be tested and accredited to another standard, BS-EN1760-2 that governs quality, durability and failure monitoring, to ensure that the gate will not function unless the safety system is in good working order.
Fitment of safety equipment, and maintenance of, is an integral part of all automated systems and are essential in order to comply with the following regulations:
| BS EN 12978 | Safety devices, requirements and test methods |
| BS EN 13241-1 | Safety and performance requirements |
| BS EN 12445 | Safety in use of power operated doors. Test methods |
| BS EN 12453 | Safety in use of power operated doors. Requirements |
