Automated Commercial Sliding Gates
We’ve gained an excellent reputation in the commercial market for our cantilever sliding gate systems. Our specialty lies in providing bespoke solutions based on established design features. While the basic principles are pre-designed, we tailor the final product to meet each client’s unique requirements.
Sliding gates have become increasingly popular over recent years; They offer a much higher level of security to swing gates against potential intruders ‘ramming’ the gate system and are relatively simple to install.
Some of our clients:
Why choose a cantilever sliding gate?
- They are unaffected by loose or uneven road surfaces, unlike tracked gates which can be unreliable in such conditions.
- With no groundtrack, our gates ensure a rail-free roadway, preventing wear over time. This also simplifies installation, minimising disruption and cost.
- There is no set size for a cantilever gate, and we have made gates anywhere from 6m long right up to 16m.
- They act as the ultimate deterrent against unwanted visitors and come with additional anti-climb features such as barbed wire, saw tooth, rotating anti-climb and 358 ‘prison mesh’ infill.
Standard Bar Infill
One of our most standard and popular designs, the gate leaf itself is constructed from a fully welded rectangular hollow section frame and is completed by fully welding 50x25mm ERW rectangular section which is mounted vertically at a 15/170mm pitch. Various additional security measures can be added, with he most popular being mesh panels installed behind the bar infill which can help with both safety and security.
Palisade Infill
Popular with a number of our larger, high-security commercial clients, our standard design cantilever gate lead would be infilled with triple-point palisade pales at an appropriate distance.
Each individual pale is affixed using M8 Ultra bolts and finished off with tamper-proof cone nuts. The bolt head lies flat against the rail to maximise security and deter vandalism.
Mesh Infill
Placed within the cantilever gate frame in pre-determined sections, 358 heavy duty security steel mesh, otherwise known as ‘prison mesh’ is extremely popular. In some applications it can be lighter and less imposing than palisade infill and also adds an extra safety aspect as no person can get their arm through the gate itself, reducing the likelihood of an accident.
Finish
To prevent corrosion of the gate frame, it is standard procedure for the following process to be followed:
Steelwork will be grit blasted to SA2.5, hot zinc metal sprayed to 50 micron, pre-heat and etched before being polyester powdercoated to a 50 micron minimum. Standard RAL colours are easily available, but any colour can be sourced as required. We would recommend a 30% gloss finish as standard, although full gloss/matt are also available.
Where the gate leaf is too large to be polyester powdercoated (anything over approximately 8000mm), a two pack polyurethane paint finish will be used.
